First Start by Defining The Vagabond Biz Models.
The Biz Models are defined into three major categories;
1. Products- There are two types of products; A) Physical products, which are products that someone fabricates, warehouse and physically gets delivered when a customer orders them., and B) Digital products – these products are make ready through digital processes and delivered via internet and direct downloads.
2. Services – I like to call these Tele-work, which mainly refers to an individual or a group of individual providing outsourced services to a third party company or individual.
3. Branding – I also like to include Authoring into this area. Individuals or companies that will create products such as books, seminars, consulting, mentoring, etc,.
The model that you desire may be one of the three above or a combination of the three.
After Model Selection, Then D-Process
For those of you who are about to embark in a new venture, after selecting your model based on your product, service or brand that you want to develop, I recommend to use the vagabond biz model process to implement it. This process is divided in three main parts;
1- Creation – This is the first stage, the stage where you create the idea and validate that ideal by creating your first few sales.
2- Configuration – At this stage you already have few sales under your belt and you start giving a basic structure and foundation to your biz.
3- Capitalization – Now we are ready to take the biz to the next level.
Let’s Explore The Three Main Biz Models.
The categories are; Products, Services, and Branding
Affiliate Marketing Business Model
The 1990’s was a tremendous period of growth for most people and some will probably tell you the 90’s were responsible for the explosion of the World Wide Web (aka the Internet, the web, the vast digital ocean of information, etc,). And with any new technology or media, companies quickly realized they had a new opportunity to market their products and services to consumers via the millions of websites they visit every day.
With the emergence of search engines in the mid-1990’s, the Internet ballooned into a massive e-commerce and information machine. Website owners were creating valuable content and providing tremendous benefits to their visitors, and these website owners wanted to be compensated for their hard work. Early forms of online advertising like CPM or fixed placement started seeing competition from emerging, more accountable forms of online advertising, like affiliate marketing. So, what is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing at its very core is about relationships, a relationship between three parties; The advertiser, the publisher, and the consumer. You actually act as an intermediary or a salesperson for a particular 3rd party product. THE AFFILIATE BUSINESS MODEL -COMING SOON!.
Building On line Assets
What’s an On-Line Asset exactly? Simply put having a site that will produce income is an asset. One of the key components to build an asset is a searchable (keyword powered) domain name, the concept here is that people think that your domain it’s a great idea and a thousand people sign up and say they’re interested. Second it is privately hosted, meaning that you pay a company like Bluehost to host it for you (not one of those free sites that can lock you out). Then you need a good autoresponder like Aweber to keep in touch with your followers. Last but not least, it has a product that you will be able to generate revenues from, it can be an actual product, ebook, advertising, affiliate program sales, etc,. Whether you develop the asset, sit on it forever, or sell it later on, you’ve got something you didn’t have before. You’ve put all of the essential online business skills into practice. We will expand and study this business model blueprint soon!
You may have an idea for a product that you can produce in your garage, like some well reconized brands started, or you may have it produce by a traditional manufacturer. You can also import products that already in demand. So we are either talking about physical products that you can see, feel, smell and touch, produce by you or imported by you.
Either way there are many questions that will arise; Where do you find suppliers? How do you know what’s going to sell? When you know that, how do you know what to determine to sell? How do you eliminate the risk of scams and bad shipments? Where do you even begin to research?
Soon! We will explore in more details the field of selling physical products…
Some products exist only on a computer, however they are still sold for real money. Examples of these include eBooks (which are just like normal books but instead of a hard copy they are just a file which you can download), training courses (on anything, from learning Spanish to learning about internet marketing), software and much much more.
The advantage of selling digital products is that you don’t have to pay any manufacturing or distribution costs. Once you’ve made the product, everything you sell is virtually profit! This is why many people create their own digital products themselves, for example writing an eBook on a subject, and then selling it.
Whether you’re a copywriter, an executive assistant or a computer repair expert, you can sell your services online to boost revenues and grow your business.
Did you know that no matter what service a customer is interested in they usually turn to the web over other advertising mediums to find it? By taking your services online, you put your business in front of thousands of Internet shoppers every day.
There are many services that you can perform, we will explore those soon!
Normally when we are talking about branding we are focusing on someone that want to be an “Author-Expert” in their field. In other words someone that will put together a series of article, books, and courses that will position him/her as someone with in depth knowledge on a particular field.
By defining your brand you create the foundation for all other components to build on, from products such as digital products to physical products. Your brand definition will serve as your measuring stick in evaluating any and all marketing materials and strategies. Your brand, your name, is what will reside within the hearts and minds of customers, clients, and prospects. It is the sum total of their experiences and perceptions, some of which you can influence,
Let’s Explore D-Process
This phase I like to call it the Creation stage, the art of bootstrap and build a business model that works! In my years of experience as a business developer I’ve learn that you don’t make complicated business models. Your job is to streamline and to simplify the business processes, down to the point that it could be stupid simple (KISS).
“KISS your business and Profit!”
The KISS method for a successful business start up has three major steps; First is the “Ideation Stage”, second is the “Validation” phase, and third is the “Propagation & Promulgation” of your business.
Once you have your idea for a business validated, it is time to star thinking more seriously about generating more income in a more consistent basis. At this stage you tweak your idea and begin generating sales based on the product or services generated from the original idea.
Here you can start giving your business a bit of form. You create and deploy a marketing plan that start to produce sales in a more consistent basis.
This is the third and by no mean last stage. I like to call it the real begging of a business. Now that you produced sales in a more consistent basis is time to grow. In this stage is where you configured your Biz idea. Here is where you spend time and effort in defining your Avatar, tweaking your marketing, and growing your sales.
